Lean Green Smoothie

If you are looking to lose weight and do it quickly, one of the best ways to do it is with green smoothies.   According to the famous Dr. Oz,

“Smoothies are one of my absolute favorite shortcuts for dieters.  They remind us all of milkshakes so we look forward to them.  At the same time, they’re ready in a hurry and they make it easy to get in the nutrients that maximize results.”

There is no doubt that green smoothie recipes are the healthiest smoothie recipes around, but you may be surprised at just how delicious they can be!  The key is in the fruit, which makes green smoothies so tasty that you barely notice that they are green!

 

Recipe inspired by Dr. Oz

Lean Green Smoothie

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 1/2 cup kale
  • 3 orange slices
  • 1/3 cup green grapes
  • 1/2 peeled pear
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or smoothie maker. Process until smooth. (Note: It really does take a high speed blender like the Vitamix to process kale. If you don’t have a high speed blender try steaming the kale and letting it cool before making your smoothie.
