Red Chard Green Chia Smoothie

One of my favorite things about making smoothie recipes a regular part of my diet is that I can whip up wholesome and nutritious meals and snacks in just a few minutes.  And, its hard to argue with the fact that smoothies are one of the best ways for a busy mom (or dad or anyone!) on the go to meet her daily nutritional requirements!  Lately, green smoothie recipes have become a major part of my diet, and as I’ve already mentioned, I haven’t felt this good in years.  It has also been a lot of fun to try new greens that I may have never tried at home.

I must confess that although I eat fairly healthy, until I was making green smoothie recipes, red chard was something that I had never bought before. Or, if I did buy it it ended up rotting in the depths of my produce drawer in the fridge because I have no memory of ever cooking with it.  I was surprised that I actually liked it in a smoothie, although I must confess that a spinach smoothie recipe is still my favorite! Since a lot of health experts recommend rotating your greens on  a regular basis and chard is fairly mild, I plan to continue enjoying it on  a regular basis in my green smoothies.
